Tchukon is a five-man band of immense talent: Slim Williams, Harold Fisher, Kat Dyson, Eric Roberts and Ingrid Stitt who joined the band in 1983. In 1985 the band won CBC’s Rock Wars and then went on to do the opening show of Star Search, hosted by Ed McMahon.
Over the years, Tchukon has dazzled fans of soul, jazz and rhythm and blues, and delighted the artists they’ve played with: Michel Pagliaro, Boule Noir, Nanette Workman, Big Mamma Thornton, and Bo Diddley to name but a few. Every member of the band has gone on to collaborate with many other artists since 1990.
Slim Williams has been musical director for countless projects, including the Salute to the Athletes for the ’96 Atlanta Summer Olympic Games, and several galas for Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival. Kat Dyson has worked with Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Céline Dion and Nathalie Cole. Harold Fisher has played music in no less than 23 countries. Ingrid Stitt lives in Vancouver and teaches music. And Eric Roberts lives in Dubai and has worked with Salome Bey, The Temptations and The Stylistics.
But on February 9, they’ll all be back in Montreal after 23 years, ready to fill the Phi Centre with soul.
