Montreal, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 – Some of the most high-profile names in the grand family of Québécois arts will gather on Monday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Métropolis for a benefit concert organized by L’Équipe Spectra in memory of technician Denis Blanchette, who died tragically on September 4 during the incidents which transpired during election night.

All receipts (tickets, bar, etc.) will be allocated to the FIDUCIE DENIS BLANCHETTE established to offer financial support for his child. In addition, there will be a collection in the venue that night to offer financial assistance to technician Dave Courage, injured under the same circumstances which cost his colleague and friend his life. Tickets go on sale today at noon.

The roster of artists who have confirmed their participation, in a grand gesture of sympathy and solidarity includes Céline Dion, Arcade Fire (acoustic set), Patrick Watson, Cœur de pirate, Ian Kelly, and Vincent Vallières. Many other surprise artists will also take part in this exceptional show.

For this night only, tickets (limited to two tickets per credit card) will be exempt from taxes and, thanks to the financial participation of Ticketmaster, also exempt from service charges:

$80, unreserved, standing room $175, reserved seating in the balcony (only 355tickets available)

Those who cannot attend the benefit concert can make a contribution via the Métropolis website (montrealmetropolis.com/benefit-concert ), where funds will be collected for Denis Blanchette’s young daughter.
