Jazz brings together people of all ages and from all backgrounds, it builds bridges both on stages and in crowds.The popularity of indoor shows is undeniable, with 33 sold-out performances!

… the generosity of Herbie Hancock, a living legend who gave a memorable concert and a master class to young musicians at the Beanfield Theater in Little Burgundy as part of Session FIJM presented by TD;

… incisive solos from an ever-smiling Buddy Guy on stage;

… the virtuosity and sheer bliss of being on stage from Snarky Puppy;

… Samara Joy, a diamond in the rough yet to reveal to us all her facets;

… Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, a virtuoso who joins the ranks of blues greats. We are sure to see him again sooner rather than later;

…the visit of Michaël Brun and guests for a Bayo-flavoured sound system evening where Haitian music was stage centre to the delight of everyone gathered in a packed MTELUS;

… Hermanos Gutiérrez’s two performances in front of an audience already won over;

… the authenticity and great sensitivity of the Ukrainian group DakhaBrakha;

… a crowd spellbound by the technical prowess and charisma of Kassa Overall at Studio TD;

… the monster success of the Invitational Series with Nate Smith and his evident complicity with his guests;

… the warm welcome given for Thylacine, with its unique musical mix and somewhat unusual instruments such as the bağlama and duduk;

.. MEZERG alone on stage, a real machine, and a blown-away audience who didn’t have to be asked to dance throughout his performance;

… the raw energy of Black Midi, worthy of punk concerts;

…free jazz by Mali Obomsawin, Indigenous artist from the Abenaki First Nation of Odanak;

Blue Note Tent
Blue Note record label’s popup vinyl shop, located a stone’s throw from Club Montréal TD, made music lovers and collectors happy! The store, a new initiative of the FIJM, sold more than 400 vinyl records by some 100 artists during the Festival.

The Festival in the media
With nearly 400 journalists, photographers and media professionals accredited, 
the Festival also wishes to highlight the extraordinary media coverage, local and international, enjoyed during this 43rd edition. Influential journalists, mainly from France, the United States and the United Kingdom, underlined the high quality of the Festival; Rolling Stone France attended, as did Radio NovaFerarockForbesSirius XMWBGODownBeatInsideHook and more. They talked up the Festival in in-depth articles, portraying our city and its unique cultural vitality in a positive light.
